There’s nothing quite like a soak in a natural hot spring to relax and refresh. Fortunately for us, there are a number of hot springs in the area that are only short drive from Vancouver. Here’s a list of some of our favorite hot springs near Vancouver.
Carson Hot Springs
Location: 372 St. Martins Springs Rd. Carson, WA 98610
Approximately one hour from Vancouver, Washington.
Website: https://www.carsonresort.com/
Carson Hot Springs has been a popular tourist destination in the Columbia River Gorge since the early 1900s. These springs are situated on the Washington side of the Columbia River, in the small town of Carson. The Carson Hot Springs resort features a historical hotel, cabins, and bathhouse that lend a vintage charm to the hot springs experience. You can soak in the mineral-rich waters in a bath tub in the bathhouse, or in the large mineral therapy pool on the premises.
Tenzen Cabins and Springs
Location: 932 Berge Rd, Stevenson, WA 98648
Approximately one hour from Vancouver, Washington.
Website: https://tenzensprings.com/
Tenzen offers a unique hot springs experience that blends Japanese minimalism with the Scandinavian spa experience. This retreat is better for those who want a personalized experience. Each private, 250-square-foot cabin includes a self-guided check-in process and 600 square feet of covered outdoor space. You can soak in the spring water in your private, open-air infinity tub while taking in the surrounding views of the Columbia River Gorge. If privacy and solitude is your preference for your soaking experience, Tenzen might be a good choice for you.
Bagby Hot Springs
Location: Off NF-70 in the Mt. Hood National Forest
Approximately two hours from Vancouver, Washington.
Website: https://www.fs.usda.gov/recarea/mthood/recarea/?recid=79271
If you’re looking for a more rugged hot springs experience, Bagby Hot Springs is right up your alley. Located in the Mt. Hood National Forest, reaching these hot springs requires a 1.5 mile hike through the forest. At least you’ll feel like you’ve earned a good soak after your hike! These hot springs are located far away from lodgings, so plan on camping overnight at the backpacker campground just past the hot springs, or at the Bagby Campground near the trailhead.
Breitenbush Hot Springs
Location: 53000 Breitenbush Rd SE, Detroit, OR 97342
Approximately two hours from Vancouver, Washington.
Website: https://breitenbush.com/
The Breitenbush Hot Springs resort is a bit of a drive from Vancouver, but the amenities are worth it. Devastated by a fire in 2020, this long-running resort has recently rebuilt and is better than ever. Breitenbush prides itself on being a sanctuary for relaxation and holistic well-being. The resort is purposefully off-grid, away from cell phone service, and internet free. This lets you digitally detox during your retreat. In addition to the hot springs, you can also enjoy yoga classes, vegetarian meals, and a serene environment surrounded by the Cascade Mountains.
Conclusion
If you’re ready for a restorative weekend, relaxation is only a short drive away. We hope that you’ve enjoyed this list of hot springs near Vancouver. Go enjoy a good soak!
