Where To Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day In Vancouver, Washington

St. Patrick’s Day is almost upon us, and Vancouver Washington has plenty of great ways to celebrate the holiday. Here are a few ideas:

Local Pubs

If your idea of a St. Patrick’s Day celebration involves a pint at a cozy pub, then Vancouver has several great places for you to enjoy your favorite Irish libation.  Here are some of our favorite local pubs:

Brickhouse is a restaurant and taphouse located in downtown Vancouver. Their rotating list of local brews on tap means you’ll always find something new and interesting to try. Brickhouse also has a regular lineup of live entertainment – check their event schedule to find something special on St. Patrick’s day.

Shanahan’s Pub & Grill (and their latest addition, The Infirmary) is a dyed-in-the-green Irish pub in the Hough neighborhood of downtown Vancouver. With a wide selection of Irish brews, whiskies, and pub grub, you’re sure to find something to satisfy your tastes this St. Patrick’s Day.

Mahoney’s Public House is a great Irish watering hole on the north side of Vancouver. Their extensive tap list has something for every taste. Plus, the beverages pair well with the excellent pub fare they have available.

Grady’s Public House is one of our go-to-spots for pub grub and imported beers from Ireland and the UK. Check with the restaurant to see if they have any St. Patrick’s Day specials.

St. Patrick’s Day Parade In Vancouver

If something non-alcoholic is more your speed, check out one of Vancouver’s most cherished St. Patrick’s Day traditions: the Paddy Hough Parade. For over 30 years, students from Hough Elementary have led marchers, musicians, and classic cars through the streets of Vancouver to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day. The parade starts at noon at Hough Elementary – be sure to get there early to grab a good viewing spot!

Irish Music On St. Patrick’s Day

For some Irish tunes on St. Patrick’s Day, check the event schedule for the Fort Vancouver Pipe Band. This crew of pipers and drummers has been entertaining Vancouver with Scottish and Celtic music since 2000. They have an annual tradition of playing music for a screening of The Quiet Man at Kiggins Theater in downtown Vancouver every St. Patrick’s Day – be sure to check it out!

Conclusion

Whether you’re raising a pint at a local pub, enjoying the festive spirit of the Paddy Hough Parade, or tapping your feet to the sounds of Irish music, Vancouver has plenty of ways to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day. No matter how you choose to mark the occasion, take the time to enjoy the camaraderie, culture, and fun that make this holiday special. Sláinte!
